2012 News + Updates
2011-12: Kirk is currently in Costa Rica producing a documentary for the 2012 Film Festival series. This piece is tentatively titled "The Race to Burning Man, a Sculptural Quest."
Earlier this year, he filmed the installation of "Bliss Dance" on Treasure Island, San Francisco, California.
2010: "Bliss Dance": Kirk taught, deligated volunteers and was Marco Cochrane's primary welder during the creation process of this forty foot female nude. The statue was showcased at Burning Man 2010, www.blissdance.us
Two exhibits: "My Quick Tornado" on loan at Freshies Coffee Shop, Fernie, BC and "A Sense of Direction" on loan (Vic Bossio, Fernie Salvage Yard).
2009: Received the Columbia Kootenay Alliance's Art Touring Award and Artist Metal Workshop Award.
2008: One of Kirk's biggest works of art in history was completed in the fall of 2008 for Fernie Snow Valley ski resort (Fernie Alpine Resort). This commission purchased by the resort is the world's largest ski poles.
In the same year, Kirk also created "Moguls", unique igloo-like structures, for Fernie's annual Mogul Smoker event.
